About the school
Twenty-seven years on the same street.
Headbridge opened in 1998 with forty-one students in a converted bungalow on Bridgeway Close. The bungalow is now the bursary. Everything else grew around it.
Our story
Built slowly, on purpose.
The school was founded by three teachers who had left larger schools for the same reason: classes had grown past the point where a teacher could honestly say they knew each child. Headbridge was their answer — small year groups, teachers who stay, and a curriculum taught properly rather than covered quickly.
We added the senior school in 2003, the science block in 2009, and the Bridgeway technical workshop in 2016 after parents in the engineering trades asked for a route that did not treat a technical stream as a consolation prize.
Today 480 students walk through the gate each morning. Nineteen of our thirty-eight teachers have been here more than eight years. That continuity is the whole point.

Mission
To teach Lagos students to think clearly, work honestly and carry themselves well — and to know each one of them well enough to tell when they are struggling before they say so.
Know the child
Every student has a form teacher who reports on them personally each term — not a printed grade sheet.
Teach the subject
Teachers are hired for their subject and kept in it. Physics is taught by a physicist.
Tell the truth
Reports say what is actually happening. We would rather have a difficult conversation in JSS2 than a surprise in SS3.

PhD Education (UNILAG). Twenty-two years teaching; joined Headbridge in 2011.
